How to apply for Canadian visa (within)

                                        



How to apply step 1: 

            Typically, a study permit must be requested before traveling to Canada. A study permit application can sometimes be made from within Canada. You may be able to apply in some circumstances at the port of entry when you enter Canada. Make sure you are aware of the options you have.

2. Your application for a study permit is processed.

If you submitted your study permit application outside of Canada 

We'll send you a letter of introduction at the port of entry stating that you're permitted to pursue your studies in Canada. Your study permission is not included in this mail. 


This letter must be with you at all times and be shown to a border services agent when you enter Canada. In addition, if you require one, we will issue you an electronic travel authorization (eTA) or a visiting visa (temporary resident visa) to enter Canada. 


The letter of introduction will contain information on your eTA if you are from a nation where you are required to have one. Your eTA will be connected to your passport and is good for five years or until your passport expires, whichever occurs first. You should make sure to bring the passport you used to apply for your study permit when you go. 


Your passport will contain the visitor's visa if you are from a nation where one is required. Your ability to enter Canada on more than one occasion will be indicated. Before your visa expires, you must enter Canada. 


Travel with a valid green card (or comparable official proof of status in the U.S.) if you are a lawful permanent resident of the country, and a valid passport from your place of citizenship otherwise (or an equivalent document).
